Can you explain what the notation of multiples means. I understand multiples being many people putting together pieces to make a complete piece. I just don't understand notation in this context.

hmmm...I'm not exactly sure what your question is...Do you mean notion of multiples instead of notation? When I mentioned notion on the chalkboard, I simply meant for us to critically think about the benefits/weakness of using multiples to create an art project.
There isn't much more to it than what you mentioned..."I understand multiples being many people putting together pieces to make a complete piece." One person can also create a multiples piece too...it does not necessarily have to include a group of people.
In the context of a group creating (we would call this collaboration or a collaborative group project) a multiples piece there can be many benefits. For example, a large scale piece could be created more quickly with more people and the group could have rich opportunities to grow and learn from one another as they plan and execute a project together. Collaboration can help fine tune and strength concepts or even help us learn to see in new ways.
Does this answer your question? If not, raise another in the comments here and I'll check back this evening...cheers.
